Well I’ve come to the end of my stroll through the Alpha version of Prison Architect. I’m at this time (based on the tutorial) unsure about the actual longevity of this game, though I did enjoy myself learning the ropes. The graphics are, as you’ve seen, rather basic but this adds that level of dark humour to this game which in truth is taking on a rather morbid subject.
An oddity which was raised by @feedyourhead23 on Twitter when he asked why the “Polaroids of Edwards cheating wife, has her nudity is subtly hidden (and her boyfriends todger) but the bullet to the head can be shown with graphic detail”. I have to agree with this observation of Violent murder is allowed, but nipples and a penis are right out, what brought the programmers to this decision?
I’m going to set up my own prison and once I’ve created this I’ll film it and show it off. I’ll let you know in a week or so whether I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to see this game develop through the next few months and to it’s actual release.
