Splatoon 3 to get DLC support for up to two years post launch

Splatoon 3 is out tomorrow and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Nintendo has set out ambitious plans for content that stretches two years post-launch with updates releasing every three months. There’ll be plenty of customisation options for characters, including seasonal clothing and emotes.

Players will also be able to get custom banners, badges and points and purchase those through points earned in battle.

There’ll also be new weapons added in game and these can be purchased once you’ve levelled up over the course of time. And finally new modes will be released post launch.

X-Battle is open to those who achieve a high rank within the ‘Anarchy Battle Mode’. League Battle sees you compete in teams every two hours based on the Anarchy Battle results.

We also know there will be paid DLC in the future, though at present it’s not attached to an expansion pass and there are no details released as yet.

Splatoon 3 launches as a Nintendo Switch exclusive on September 9.
