Hard to believe it’s been nearly ten years since the last Civilization but the latest is just a few short weeks away.

For the first time ever, it will also be simshipping on PC and consoles, a monumental moment for the series to be sure, but as such there’s a lot of different options for players beginning on February 6th.

We’ll break this down for you to help with making your purchasing decision.

Four main editions. Standard, Deluxe, Founders, and Collectors

Will there be DLC?

Yep, there’s several packs available right out of the gate, including the  Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack, as well as a Right to Rule and Crossroads of the World Collection with post launch content, 2 leader persona, Founders Content Pack, tile sets and more.

Anything else we should know?

You can play Civ 7 slightly early on February 6th (ahead of the official February 11th launch date) if you purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game.

Also, if you link your 2K account, you’ll be able to add and play as Napoleon at launch of the game.

Editions

Standard Editions

The Standard Edition includes the base game as well as one additional extra in the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack as a pre-purchase bonus. This adds the Tecumseh leader, as well as the Shawnee Civilization. This version of the game is playable from February 11th.

Deluxe Editions

The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, as well as several additional extras, including the Crossroads of the World Collection and the Deluxe Content Pack which adds 2 Leader Personas, 4 Profile Customizations and 1 Alternate Scout Skin. This version of the game also includes Advanced Access so you can play Civ 7 on February 6, 2025.

The Crossroads of the World Collection also contains post launch content which will add 2 new leaders, 4 new civilizations, 4 new National Wonders, a special cosmetic bonus and more.

Founders Editions (only available until February 28th)

The Founders Edition is a limited, digital only pack that will only be available to purchase until February 28th and it includes the base game as well as the full selection of extras. This includes all of the above, as well as the Right to Rule Collection which also has post launch content with 2 new leaders, 4 new civilizations, 4 new wonders, a special cosmetic bonus and more. You’ll also get a Founders Content Pack which includes 2 leader personas, 4 profile customizations, 1 fog of war tile set, and 1 Founders palace skin. This edition also includes the Advanced Access from February 6th 2025.

Collectors Editions

Finally, the Collectors Edition is for physical enthusiasts and is only available from Final Boss Bundle. It includes all of the above, as well as physical extras, such as a Decorative Clock called ‘The Passage of Time’, a Scout Figure, Logo Pin, Challenge Coin, postcards, art print and patch set. You’ll also get a Steam code for the Founders Edition of the game. The expected time of delivery is July 2025.
