The sun hasn’t quite set on Baldur’s Gate 3 with one final major update arriving early next year.
Patch 8 is going to add some very exciting opportunities to the game, including some regularly requested by the community.
The first is cross-play, which enables you to play with anyone regardless of where they own Baldur’s Gate 3. This follows on from the cross-progression and cross-saves that already exist in the game.
Your friend plays on Xbox and you’re on PC? No worries! Once the update is live, you can invite players through the Larian Network, regardless of platform.
There’s also a brand new photo mode coming to the game where you can adjust the lens, scene, and post processing effects.
Finally, there’s new sub-classes coming to the game to expand the way you play, one for each class. Check out the full list below and read the Steam blog to get a full breakdown on what each of these classes offers.
- Bard – College of Glamour
- Barbarian – Path of Giants
- Cleric – Death Domain
- Druid – Circle of Stars
- Paladin – Oath of the Crown
- Fighter – Arcane Archer
- Monk – Drunken Master
- Ranger – Swarmkeeper
- Rogue – Swashbuckler
- Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
- Warlock – Hexblade
- Wizard – Bladesinging
The patch begins stress testing in January, with a full release date to be announced shortly after.
