The digital age is well and truly upon us and, it seems, some of the fears people had about it.
Ubisoft will be decommissioning online features and delisting ‘some’ DLC for several of its key titles and IPs as of September 1. This was always a big worry for people about making everything digital, and it seems some of those fears have come to light. That said, access to the DLC is still going to be available for some of these titles via physical releases.
The reason this is being done, according to Ubisoft, is so they can ‘focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more popular titles.”
All of these games are being affected in various different ways.
- Anno 2070: Multiplayer, linking accounts, online features
- Assassin’s Creed 2: Multiplayer, linking accounts, online features
- Assassin’s Creed 3: Multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC
